Intercamera
Space, colour and otion
The Intercamera exhibition, which has the subtitle of Space, Colour and Motion, is directly connected to the Photographic Studio exhibition. In the Space section, the visitor will get acquainted with historical and contemporary types of spatial photography. Stereoscopic photography, which was genuinely widespread in the second half of the 19th century, is presented here in detail. In the exhibition it is also possible to see a clip from a film in a 3D format, A Day in the Mountain Forest, on a large screen.
Another part of the exhibition presents the development of processes and techniques of colour photography, including the basics of colour rendering in contemporary digital photography. The principles of perception and the composition of colours can be experienced interactively in the exhibition. Visitors can learn the principles of colour photography in even more detail through the animated film on basic colour processes in the informational kiosk.
The third part of the Intercamera exposition shows the development of photographic imaging of motion. Two particularly valuable exhibition pieces are presented here: Reynaud's Belt, which has been entered into the UNESCO International Register of Memory of the World and chronophotographs by É. J. Marey. The beginnings of instant photography are evoked here, as part of the Experimental Track interactivity, visitors can photograph the phases of their own movement using a set of eighteen cameras to create a series of photographs, similar to what was used in the 19th century. The phenomenon of cinematography is commemorated here with the original camera of the Lumière brothers, which Jan Kříženecký used to make the first Czech films.
