The so-called towed vehicles (without their own propulsion) are represented by all types, from the most luxurious salon cars to passenger, service, and postal cars, coupled cars from motorized transport, as well as freight vehicles—closed, open, and specially designated. The NTM has five salon cars in its collection, mostly produced by the Ringhoffer factory in Smíchov, the largest factory of its kind in the former monarchy. The original dining car of Emperor Franz Joseph I's imperial train, richly decorated (1891), is displayed at Letná, the car for the journeys of the heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand d'Este (1909), is operated occasionally, the two-axle car for the former Ústí-Teplice railway (1900) and the four-axle car made for Baron Rothschild in Kopřivnice (1906) are stored and presented in Chomutov. The most recent addition is the salon car for the President of the Republic from 1968, produced by a factory in Budyšín, East Germany. This car is also operated occasionally.
