Nearly 80 vehicles cover steam locomotives and modern traction units, primarily from the former ČSD, ranging from the mid-19th century to the end of the 1960s. The most valuable is the semi-tender steam locomotive from the former Buštěhrad Railway I.103 "Kladno" from 1855 – it is the oldest steam locomotive preserved in our territory and the oldest of three surviving machines of this type in the world. A unique specimen is the cogwheel steam locomotive 404.003 from 1901, originally G 23 "Polaun," which was supplied for our only cog railway Tanvald – Kořenov. Also noteworthy is the steam car M124.001 "Komarek," which was restored to operational condition between 2015 and 2016, or the historical electric motor coach M400.001 from 1903, which still operates on its main line – Křižík's first intercity railway Tábor – Bechyně. Several vehicles are exhibited in the permanent exhibition of transport history in the NTM hall at Letná, with the largest part of the collection on display in the accessible depository in Chomutov. Additional vehicles can also be seen, for example, in the exhibition of the ČD Museum in Lužná near Rakovník, and some participate as operational exhibits in regular historical rides.
