The collection of horological technology was originally part of the clockmaking collections; however, over time, due to its scope and the significance that horological technology had for the development of engineering in the 18th and 19th centuries, it became independent. The collection, comprising approximately two hundred exhibits, includes a complete range of watchmaking machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and dividing machines for gearing, as well as special tools and machines—finers, rollers, planers, setters, presses for inserting bearing stones, chisels, hole-reducing punches, aids, and fixtures for various horological operations (compact and recessing holes, drilling and polishing pins) and various gauges.
