What to see

The display comprises nearly 100 rail vehicles of various gauges and types – from a steam locomotive manufactured in 1870 to new traction vehicles that are a century younger. There are locomotives from former ČSD; saloon, passenger, and diesel cars, electric and diesel locomotives, historic hand cars as well as vehicles only recently removed from České Dráhy operation.

The greatest attraction are steam locomotives – for example express “Albatross” 498.106 with top speed 162 km/h (100 mph), the first post-war locomotive 534.0301, or steam tram locomotive “Gartenau” manufactured in Linz in 1887. Visitors are filled with admiration for a Ústecko-teplické railway company saloon car from 1900, made in F. Ringhoffer’s factory in Smíchov in Prague, or a saloon car made by Kopřivnická rail car factory in 1906 for baron Adolph Rothschild.
